The Triforce (Power, Wisdom, and Courage)

I am a huge Legend of Zelda fan. I believe that series is the main seller of every console that Nintendo has and will have to offer in the future. Yet when I think about it an idea comes to mind that mind sound a little crazy at first but follow me and you will see it makes perfect sense.

In The Legend of Zelda there are three triangles of legend that the game shows that many people covet for many reasons. Those triangles are called the Triforce. Each one represents a strong character and strengthens the user. Our maiden in distress Princess Zelda usually carries with her the Triforce of Wisdom. Although her wisdom is questionable, because she kept getting captured, she the wisest of the land. The Triforce of Power usually falls in the hands of the villain of the story, Ganon. He captures Zelda so he can have control of the Triforce of Wisdom. Luckily, the Triforce of Courage is in the hands of the hero of the tale Link. When their powers combine they can grant any wish. Should you transmute a human soul? – James 3:2

James 3:2 – We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. (NIV)

We all have made mistakes in someway or form in our lives. Some more than others. We didn’t listen to what others have told us. We didn’t listen to that still small voice inside of us that told us that we were not taking the right path. Two guys who didn’t fell many of times were the Elric Brothers, Alphonse and Edward. They are from the story Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa. In this world Alchemist aren’t people that just turn random metals in to gold but if they have the basic building blocks of any item they can make it. Spare wooden parts can easily be turned into a beautiful new chest if placed in a transmutation circle. But what about the dead body of a loved one. What would that create? In that world, those actions are the ultimate taboo. Those who attempt it are reprimanded in the worst possible way. Edward lost and arm and a leg but his brother Alphonse, lost his whole body and his soul was attached to armor by his brother to keep him in the living world.

With Great Power… – James 2:15-17

James 2:15-17 – 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (NIV)

pk17a[1] The clip from the comic above comes from Amazing Fantasy #15 where we first get to see the one of the greatest comic book characters from Marvel, Spider-Man. What above spawned what have been shortened to the mantra, “With great power comes great responsibility.” Peter Parker, Spider-Man, was told this by Ben Parker, his uncle. He took those words for granted but soon after he have heard those very words he was faced with the true meaning of it. A thief who Peter had the power and the ability to stop was the man that killed his Uncle. He had the power to stop him dead in his tracks and he didn’t.  Continue reading “With Great Power… – James 2:15-17”

Knitting – Psalm 34:14

Psalm 34:14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. (NIV)

yoite[1]God’s peace, beyond a shadow of a doubt is the goal many of us tries to attain. Sometimes it comes to easy to us and sometimes we must fight for it. External wars fought between men and women and internal wars that are fought through the heart and mind are in constant motion. There are many cartoons and animes that came to mind with this scripture but the one that shined the brightest in my mind was Nabari No Ou and the villain Yoite. Bankai! – I John 4:4

I John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (NIV)

ichigo-bankai-hollow[1] When I think of this scripture it reminds me of some great Shonen Jump! characters such as Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach and Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto. Ichigo had power that was endowed to him from several factors. The power of a quincy from his mother and the power of soul reaper from his father. A power that only manifested itself by just being able to see ghost and spirits. Now you may be asking how this may be linked to the scripture above. When Ichigo’s family was in trouble and there was no one to save them except a lone soul reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. She activated his dormant soul reaper powers and was able to save his family. Just like Ichigo I believe God’s Holy Spirit that dwells inside of us all strengthens us when we need it the most. He gives us the will and courage to fight the battles we lack the strength to. But when it comes to Ichigo it gets better. Continue reading “Bankai! – I John 4:4”
