In part one, we read about Eren Yeager, and how we need to declare to the titans in our lives that we will defeat them. In part two, we read about Armin Arlert and how he increased his knowledge and widened his vision to obtain success over the titans and how we need to do the same. We are now in part three, and we will discuss Mikasa Ackerman. Mikasa is a naturally talented fighter when it comes to fighting titans but not all of have a natural ability to attack the titans in our lives but there is something special about her that had to be jolted out of her by Eren. She had to push her self to fight.

In Episode 6 of the anime, Mikasa was helpless as a little girl as she was being kidnapped. However, a young Eren attempted to save her. But his rescue backfired and he was about to get killed himself. Only one person could save him and that was Mikasa. Her killer instinct for the first time kicked in. She attacked to save her new friend and attacked for her survival. We must also put forth the effort to attack the titans in our lives as well. In the book of James we read the scripture above from 2:118 above and we can surmise that basically faith without works is dead. But let’s read further into the scripture.

James 2:18 – 24 – 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (NKJV)

From verse 21 to 24 we are told about Abraham and how he placed his son on the altar. It is faith and works placed together. When we are facing the titans in our lives we must not only declare that we will do with faith and expectancy believing that God will provide and deliver, we must gain knowledge or find the person that can help us with our situation, and finally we must execute what we have been informed to do.

We also must not become complacent. You must act with little hesitation if you want to fight the titans. Proverbs 13:4 reminds us:

Proverbs 13:4 – The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. (ESV)

We have to work hard to fight the good fight against our titans. Fighting addiction will not be easy, depression, joblessness, hopelessness, and sickness is not going to be easy. But we must press on and stay focused and have faith. Our God has not forgotten about you but he wants to see you move your feet once you ask of him. You can’t make a million dollars if you are just sitting on your couch watching TV. You will never get better if you don’t go to the doctor. You will never find love if you are just staying at home twiddling your thumbs. I am not sure where you are in life. How many titans are attacking you as you read this but I believe that if you keep praying, keep your eyes on your goal, and work towards it you will defeat the titan that stalks your life and you will come out greater than you have ever been before.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am thankful that you remind us through your word that we must take action and not be afraid to move our feet towards your blessings. I know we need to push through the problems in our lives and I know that you will deliver us as long as we take Your direction and keep pushing forward. Please Heavenly Father, please keep us going even when we lack the strength so that we may get through the problems of our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
