Home For Infinite Losers – Revelation 20:13-14

Revelation 20:13-1413The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. (NIV)

Freeza in Hell, Dragon Ball Super

Who’s your favorite Dragon Ball villain? I haven’t watched much of Dragon Ball Super but from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball GT I would have to admit my favorite Dragon Ball villain would be Freeza. His reckless disregard for life helped bring our favorite Saiyan warrior Goku to the level of Super Saiyan for the first time ever. We even got to see the fantastic swordsman ship of Future Trunks as he defeated Freeza and sent him to… Well where did he go?

Demon from HFIL, because you couldn’t say HELL on children’s television

Well you might think he went to the Home for Infinite Losers, HFIL for short. You would think right. Bad people went to the Home for Infinite Losers. Where they are tortured for the ills they have done in life. It might be hard to fathom to suffer for eternity for your wrong doings in a place called Home for Infinite Losers but let’s take a look into what The Bible says about the place.

Hell is described in a couple places in The Bible as a lot of blazing hot fire:

Revelation 21:8 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (NIV)

Matthew 13:50 50and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (NIV)

Now I will be honest with you if hell is how it is displayed in Dragon Ball then it doesn’t seem like a bad afair. To be surrounded by things that agitate you to know end. The problems with agitating things is that at somepoint you will get used to it and it will not bother you anymore. Eternal hellfire doesn’t sound like something you can get used to.

But there’s another issue with hell. How do you get there? Do you have to be good all of the time and not sin at all to make it out? Well I have some bad news.

Romans 3:23 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (NIV)

We are all sinners and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Not the we all going to die death. The second death as stated in Revelation 21:8.

So when you die you won’t be surrounded by fairies that want to make you feel joy when you are miserable you are going to feel eternal suffering in fire. Which leads to an interesting question. Do you know where you are going when you die and are you confident in that?

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to go to the Home For Infinite Losers. But next week we will go deeper into how you can avoid HFIL or HELL. But while you are waiting I just want you to answer the question in the comments below. Where do you think you will be when you time is called?

Heavenly Father, I know that Hell is a real place. Not that sugar-coated funny place that is shown in the Dragon Ball series. I know just being a good person is not enough to enter the gates of heaven. I like the thief that died on the cross with Jesus do not want to be forgotten. Please remember me when I pass. In Jesus holy name, I pray. Amen.
