Proverbs 12:24 – The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; But the slothful shall be put under taskwork. (ASV)
Soma Yukihira is the leading character in the manga and anime Food Wars. This scene happens in the middle of the greatest cooking competition in the world, Blue. With hard work and determination, he finally got to get a return match against his rival Asahi Saiba. This is the person that defeated Soma’s father and took his knife. This is the person that has defeated every chef he came across up to this point in the manga.
At this moment he experienced a flashback when preparing his meal and thought about when he was doing work-study under Kojiro Shinomiya, a famous French chef. He then remembers the words above and I thought about scripture in Proverbs. It answers the question of how do you win a competition is great as this or any other great desire in life.
1 John 2:2 –2He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (NIV)
Did you think about the question from last week? Do you know where you are going when you shuffle off this mortal coil? No one is righteous (Romans 3:10) and all of has sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). So if you don’t want to go to HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers), a furnace of fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:42) you might need a good attorney. In a litigious society like ours you will need an attorney that will fight for you and save you from eternal damnation.
My first suggestion could be Phoenix Wright! The famous attorney from the Nintendo DS/3DS games.
Could you just imagine that God is right in front of you and letting you know that you are going to HFIL and a lone voice yells out of nowhere and screams in that Holy Court! OBJECTION!He gathers the evidence, all the good deeds you have done in your life and you hope that all the evidence would win God over and make him see that you deserve to go to Heaven but no matter how much he wags his finger, no matter how passionate Phoenix can be it would be a case he can never win. However there is one person who can win… Continue reading “Objection! – 1 John 2:2”→
Revelation 20:13-14 – 13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. (NIV)
Who’s your favorite Dragon Ball villain? I haven’t watched much of Dragon Ball Super but from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball GT I would have to admit my favorite Dragon Ball villain would be Freeza. His reckless disregard for life helped bring our favorite Saiyan warrior Goku to the level of Super Saiyan for the first time ever. We even got to see the fantastic swordsman ship of Future Trunks as he defeated Freeza and sent him to… Well where did he go?
Well you might think he went to the Home for Infinite Losers, HFIL for short. You would think right. Bad people went to the Home for Infinite Losers. Where they are tortured for the ills they have done in life. It might be hard to fathom to suffer for eternity for your wrong doings in a place called Home for Infinite Losers but let’s take a look into what The Bible says about the place.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to take the time out to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Let’s all give thanks to God that Jesus has returned as our risen Savior and King. As this is Nerdy Sermons I found an anime by the Jesus Film Project on YouTube that is definitely worth a watch. The short anime film is called My Last Day. It follows the last day of the one of the criminals that was crucified next to Jesus. The criminal that asked Jesus to remember him when he goes into His Kingdom.
Luke 23:40-43 – 40But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” 42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (NIV)

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (NIV)
Previously in the last article I briefly mentioned “Pastor” Rick Warren and how he reminded me of Father Cornello from Full Metal Alchemist. Let me explain myself. Father Cornello was the leader of the Church of Leto, the sun god, in a small town known as Reole. I know it’s not Christianity but follow me here. He started the church so he can gain a legion of followers and won them over with divine miracles. With the use of the Philosopher’s Stone, a stone that amplifies the users ability to do alchemy and to seemingly do it without the need of equivalent exchange, he wins people over making his followers believe he has power given to him by the sun god.
Eventually the Elric Brothers, the heroes of the story, exposes him as a fraud alchemist and Cornello dies at the hands of two homunculi known as Lust and Gluttony. Now how does this relate to Rick Warren and the scripture above? Let’s dive deeper.
Teen Titans Go! according to Cartoon Network is your new favorite show. Oddly enough it has become one of my favorite shows. It’s humor is filled with double entendre that is slap stick enough for the kids but funny to children of the 80s.
In Season 2, Episode 16 , “Vegetables”, we find that Beast Boy gets the Teen Titans to join him in being a vegetarian. They humorously get into the best shapes and able to take down the bad guys in the episode with ease. Well then it takes an odd turn for the worst when they turn green and started to become a minion of a giant carrot name Vegetor.
We are now on Part three of our series. Part One, A New Hope, covered what Jesus coming means for us as Christians and compared it to what Luke meant to the Star Wars Universe. Part Two, The Empire Strikes Back, covered temptation to go to the dark side as Luke had to deal with from his father as well as Jesus before he began his ministry. But the epic conclusion of the Luke Trilogy of Star Wars is Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
At the end of The Empire Strikes back the heroes lives are in shambles. Han Solo is frozen in carbonite and is in the clutches of the vile Jabba the Hutt. Luke Skywalker lost his battle with Darth Vader as well as his hand. He found out that one of the greatest evils in the universe is his father. The team lost hope after the events of Cloud City.
But the prophecy must be fulfilled right? Anakin, Darth Vader, is supposed to be the one to bring balance to the force and we need the Return of the Jedi to do it. We needed the pendulum to swing towards the light in the Star Wars Universe as well as our own. We needed our “Jedi” Jesus Christ to return. Continue reading “Return of the Jedi – Luke 24”→
