2 Peter 2:1-3
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (NIV)
Previously in the last article I briefly mentioned “Pastor” Rick Warren and how he reminded me of Father Cornello from Full Metal Alchemist. Let me explain myself. Father Cornello was the leader of the Church of Leto, the sun god, in a small town known as Reole. I know it’s not Christianity but follow me here. He started the church so he can gain a legion of followers and won them over with divine miracles. With the use of the Philosopher’s Stone, a stone that amplifies the users ability to do alchemy and to seemingly do it without the need of equivalent exchange, he wins people over making his followers believe he has power given to him by the sun god.
Eventually the Elric Brothers, the heroes of the story, exposes him as a fraud alchemist and Cornello dies at the hands of two homunculi known as Lust and Gluttony. Now how does this relate to Rick Warren and the scripture above? Let’s dive deeper.
